Woodland BSA Troop 131

Welcome to Troop 131's Website
Sponsored by Woodland Sunrise Rotary Club

Basics
Meetings are every Thursday evening (7:00-8:30) at the Woodland Boy Scout Cabin
located at 515 Lincoln Street between College and First Streets, Woodland, California
Outings occur monthly, most are overnight camping trips, some are day trips
Every summer the troop spends a week at summer camp.
We play Dodgeball at most meetings!

What is BSA Troop 131 all about?
It is for boys age 11-17 who want to have fun, explore the outdoors, learn leadership skills, and hang out together.
No experience or prior training is needed.
Boys work in small groups called patrols to eat, learn new skills, and just have fun.
Patrols are run by the scouts to get hands on leadership skills
As the scouts learn skills and show leadership they gain rank and other awards.
All scouts benefit from these experences regardless of what rank they earn.
A few, about 2% nationally, earn the prestigous rank of Eagle Scout.
Troop 131 has traditionally developed a significant number of Eagle Scouts.

What are some of the things we've done?

Rode our bikes on the Avenue of the Giants
Hiked a section of the John Muir Trail
Hiked on the Lost Coast Trail (twice)
Hiked the Marin Headlands and the Golden Gate Bridge
Canoed at Lake Ahjumawi
Rode our bikes at Yosemite National Park
